India - A Leader in e-Governance
Under this Government, India has exercised leadership in internet governance. India has proactively supported the multi-stakeholder model of internet governance, to establish a fairer, more equitable order over the internet. India also hosted ICANN 57 in Hyderabad in 2016.
A model RFP document has been formulated in a consultative manner with suggestions taken from various industry partners, Government bodies and NGOs for implementation of various projects at different levels under the Digital India Programme.
The model RFP documents have been formulated to address several challenges associated with tender documents- relating to terms of payments, acceptance criteria, service level agreements, change management etc for procurement of IT goods & services.
Digital India Programme marks an enormous shift from the earlier paradigm of government and process centric approach to a completely citizen centric, outcome oriented approach. This has been further enhanced by the Programme’s vision to create the right policy atmosphere for overall growth of IT Industry and Services, infrastructure for delivery of the services, and also by initiating many projects of critical importance to citizens.
Technology is expected to serve as the key facilitator to meet all the objectives of the Government while enabling convenient, assisted, and improved access to services and infrastructure, giving choice of multiple access channels and most importantly, trouble-free access to services with dignity to the citizens of New India is at the core of Digital India.
